Here's how the student internship program works:

American Fallout Records is all about producing great music and getting it out to people who deserve to hear it. We are on the cutting edge in dealing with new artists who are unproven in some markets. For this reason, we initially use non-traditional sales and distribution methods when breaking a new act, until the artist reaches a sales point where it is viable for a distributor to carry their work. This is where you come in. Your job as an intern will be to do pre-sales and marketing of upcoming releases. We send you free promotional copies of the new cd (before the release date...so you'll be the first one in your area with the hottest new music), as well as other promotional materials. You spread the word about the artist's upcoming release, create a local buzz, give a copy to your college radio station, call in requests, get local record stores to stock it, hand out promo cd's, press kits and posters to local media, club owners and dj's, etc., take pre-sale orders, collect money and keep track of names, email addresses and mailing addresses of contacts and buyers. You are paid a commission on every cd sold. This program is perfect for college students who want to get their foot in the door in the music business, who have good people skills and are hard-working and self-motivated. It helps if you're also a fan of alternative/alt-country and Americana music (check out the "who we are" page of the website for a list of artists similar to the ones we release). There are no limits to what sales figures you can accomplish with some work and perseverence. You are in control.
