Who we are

About American Fallout

At American Fallout, our philosophy is to produce and promote timeless, original music that can be enjoyed by a diverse cross-section of people from around the world - honest, genuine music in which content comes before image. We believe that music adds greatly to the quality of life and that music has the ability to make the world a better place. We represent artists who have something to say and a unique way of saying it; Artists of integrity who make music on their own terms. We are a quality-oriented independent label and agency specializing in Alternative Indie, Americana, Outlaw Country, Rural Indie Art-Rock, Progressive Bluegrass, Alt-Country, Contemporary Folk, Anti-Folk, Psychograss, Insurgent Country, Cowpunk, No Depression, Alternative Roots Rock, Modern Old Time Music...Call it what you will...This music is the real deal.

What exactly does this mean?...Well, to be honest, we're not sure, but we know it when we hear it. The lines between these genres are not so much clearly defined as they are fluid, changing and overlapping. By definition, many have an affinity for things close to the earth, a down home, unpretentious demeanor and a common thread of integrity interwoven with styles which are uniquely American. We like cutting-edge artists who aren't afraid to push the envelope. This music often requires an open-minded listener who is not bound by the shackles of conformity, convention and the status quo. There is often a reverence for tradition mixed with a desire to say something new in a unique way, often with an innovative blending of various influences. Much of this music has the ability to transcend generational and cultural divides. While much popular music has tended to reinforce divisiveness, this music often brings people together.

Still not sure what we're talking about? Well, here is what we are NOT interested in: overproduced, overly-sappy, cliche, hate-mongering, posing, inane, contrived, trendy-for-the sake-of-trendiness, maudlin, profit-motivated, pretentious, insipid, politically-correct, image-driven, safe, elitist, predictable, shallow, mindless blathering.

Okay, so what music DO we like? Check out the (very long) list of artists below (they're in no particular order). If you love many of these arists, there's a good chance you'll like American Fallout artists too.
